Plus, if you ever decide to change gas blocks it is unlikely the two set screws will be in the same location if you switch brands. You do not "need" even a single dimple, let alone two, but one makes installation easier and holds under any reasonable use. I didn't even used dimples for over a decade and never had a problem, but a single dimple makes installing the gas block in perfect alignment with the gas port idiot proof. My barrels are too precious to me to burn them up by shooting them too hot to touch. If it gets too hot to touch, I let it cool. I never shoot my barrels hot, so that matters. 458, and I have never had to resort to using anything other than Blue Locktite and IF it is dimpled, a single dimple is all you need. I have done dozens of builds and most of them on calibers bigger than 5.56, everything from 5.56 up to. Some time in the future you will want to. Don't ever think you won't be removing the gas block.
